Rebuilding 130 houses, library and health post
In Thokarpa, Sindupalchowk, we work are working together with the local ward office, Caritas Nepal and Sweden Nepal Society to rebuild 130 houses, a three story library and build a new health post using Interlocking Bricks. In this village something truly wonderful has happened!
Building a three story library
While waiting for the permissions to start the construction of the health post Build up Nepal was asked by the local community if we could go ahead and set up the machine and start training in the meantime. Said and done – we came out and started training.
We trained a group of the local community in every step of Earth Brick production. They then independently continued to produce Earth Bricks. A few weeks later a three story RCC-structure was coming up in the village. Instead of waiting for the health post the local people took the opportunity to kick-start the reconstruction by producing Earth Bricks for the new library – a project initiated and funded by READ Nepal, Beautiful Store and Samsung.

Building 130 houses and a new health post
We are in process of building the new health post in Thokarpa. We are serving as construction partner to Sweden Nepal Society. This will help the poor families in this area to access basic healthcare and medicines which will help many people in need!
We are also working in partnership with Caritas Nepal and the local ward office to rebuild 130 houses. Almost all houses are already completed! We are both happy and impressed by the power of initiative in the village of Thokarpa!
