Building safe houses for most vulnerable

Leave No One Behind Project

Build up Nepal is working in ambitious UKaid/DFID Nepal funded Leave No One Behind project to support 1500 vulnerable families to rebuild safe, new homes in Makwanpur and Lamjung.

The project is funded by DFID Nepal and implemented by Practical Action, ActionAid Nepal, Build up Nepal, CCDN and COPADES.

"My new home is beautiful and strong!"

This house belongs to Mitu Syangtang, a 76 y/o elderly woman in Kailash-10, Makwanpur, where we have successfully trained 15 masons.

Build up Nepal's deliveries in the project:

> 25 community enterprises started to produce Interlocking Bricks and cut stones locally, reducing cost of construction

> Several model houses built and hundreds of local masons trained in earthquake resistant construction

> Mobilizing local community, stakeholders and resources to create a local construction ecosystem that works for all
